What brand of motor will I get in my blind?

Historically, we have always used Somfy branded motors in our blinds. They were the market leaders and provided excellent customer service as well as a reliable product we were confident to offer out to our customers.

On the 3^rd September 2024 we made the decision to change our motor supplier to Louvolite. We believe their motor offers a superior solution to the average DIYer for a number of reasons.

In terms of the specification of the motor we have created the table below to demonstrate the key differences: 

As you can see the Louvolite motor is more powerful, has a bigger battery capacity, runs quieter, is smaller and comes with the same 5 year guarantee that you would expect with an electric blind.

Roman and Wood Venetian Blinds

Both our roman and wood venetian blinds are still made using the Somfy Tilt and lift 25 motor and offer an excellent solution for these types of blinds. 

What this means?

Overall this means that your roller blinds are now even better value and offer a higher specification than ever before.

The downside to this change is that if you have bought blinds from us previously and want to add more then your Louvolite handsets won't be able to talk to your Somfy blinds and Visa Versa.
