How to fit your electric blinds

So you've just taken delivery of your Order Electric Blinds order - great! Your blind will arrive with the upper & lower limits pre-programmed so your blind is ready to operate as soon as your blind is installed. You can fine tune the limits if you require (please refer to our Help & FAQs page).

Before pressing any buttons on your remote you firstly need to install your blind. Depending on what type of blind you have purchased please follow the appropriate instructions on how to fit:

Electric Roller Blinds:

Fitting electric roller blinds

Whether it be blackout, semi opaque, patterned, sheer or sunscreen, your electric roller blind is simple to install & fits between x2 wall or ceiling mounted metal brackets. You will note that x1 bracket has a circular hole in the centre - this bracket is to be fitted on your compressible pin end. The other bracket will have a number of rectangular cut outs - this one marries with the motor end of the blind tube. The brackets can be top or face fixed.

To begin with, hold your brackets in the desired fitting position & mark the centre of the screw holes with a pencil or centre punch. Once marked remove the brackets, drill your holes using a 5mm drill bit, insert your wall plugs & then fix your brackets into position using the supplied screws. Do not over tighten the screws.

If your blind is supplied with a single use or rechargeable battery pack you can now install the small mounting clips that will hold your battery tube. Please note that these must be fitted close to the motor so that the short cable from the battery pack can connect with the motor. Once the clips are fixed insert your battery tube.

Now that your brackets are fixed in place, raise your blind up to the brackets & insert the motor end into the appropriate bracket followed by the pin end into the opposite bracket. The pin is compressible to make it easier for you to fit. Compress the pin to allow you to insert the tube between the brackets & release it once in position. The pin will then decompress to secure itself within the centre hole in the bracket fixing your blind in place.

Electric Wood Venetian Blinds:

Depending on the size of your venetian blind, you will be supplied with a box bracket for each end of the blind & 1-3 centre support brackets. The brackets can be top fixed (inside the recess) or face fixed (outside the recess or on the window frame). If you are fitting inside the recess then firstly make sure you measure how far your window handles protrude & ensure that the position you fit your brackets in leaves adequate clearance for the handles.

Hold your brackets in the desired fitting position & mark the centre of the screw holes with a pencil or centre punch.

With your end brackets in the open position raise your blind up to the brackets, insert the blind & then close the front side of each end bracket ensuring that it locks.

Next, attach your pelmet by peeling the velcro tabs on both the back of the valance & the headrail & marry them together to fix it in place.
