    How to measure for Grip Fit blinds


    WIDTH - Measure the width at the top of the window recess only.

    DROP - Take three measurements within the window recess at the left, middle and right. The longest of the three measurements is the one you should give us.

    Measuring Tips

    - Work in centimetres (cm) to the nearest millimetre (mm) to get the perfect fit.

    - Always use a steel tape measure. Fabric tape measures can stretch and give false readings.

    - Have a pen and paper or a notepad app ready to write down the sizes.

    - Double check all your measurements.

    - Don't make any reductions - we'll make sure the blind will fit perfectly.

    Is my window suitable for a No Drill blind?

    This white multi channel remote features the same sleek and stylish styling as our single channel remote but this time is perfect for rooms with multiple blinds that you want to operate individually. Most commonly you would use the first five channels for operating blinds individually and the sixth channel to operate them together, but you can set up any variation you like. A discreet wall mount is also included with this remote.

    Offering even more channels our multi channel remote is available in White, Black or Grey and features a digital display indicator and lets you set up 16 different combinations of blind control to choose from.     Luxury Roller System

    Luxury Cassette System

    As standard we offer a luxury roller system with our electric blinds, including a smart 7cm tall aluminium cassette that hides the brackets and the top of the roll of fabric. It also removes the gap you would usually see between the ceiling and the fabric roll giving a neater and more high end, contemporary finish.

    You can choose from three colours for this system - white, black or anthracite grey. For most fabrics the cassette will have a piece of the same fabric as the blind itself fitted into the cassette, however, if you are purchasing a sunscreen or sheer blind this fabric cannot be used as an insert and so the cassette will be supplied plain as shown above.

    If you would rather not have a fabric insert and prefer a plain finish cassette, please add this to the special instructions during checkout.

    The cassette can be either top fixed or face fixed depending where you are fitting your blind. Top fix is used when fitting your brackets at the top to the 'ceiling' area inside a recess; while face fixed is used when brackets are attached vertically on the wall for the cassette to clip into such as when you are fitting above a window outside of the recess.

    Standard Roller System

    Our standard roller system allows the fabric roll, brackets and blind mechanism to be seen. They can be either top fixed or face fixed, but not side fixed. This is the most common system used and is the one you've probably seen around the most.

    To give our system a premium finish we supply matching plastic bracket covers with our standard roller system at no additional cost. Just slip them over the metal bracket once its screwed into place for a neat, attractive finish.

    This system is only available in white.

    Grip Fit by Louvolite is an amazing new system allowing you to install your blind in seconds with no drilling, or any tools for that matter required. The attractive cassette ensures a modern, clean finish that snugly fits your window.

    As no drilling is required, Grip Fit is perfect for DIYer’s of all ability. This solution is a particularly great solution for:


    • Rented properties, where you aren’t allowed to drill

    • Tiled window recesses such as bathrooms, removing the worry of cracking tiles when drilling.

    • Windows with steel lintels, that can be a nightmare to drill through.


    Is my window suitable for grip fit?



    • This blind system can be installed within a window recess only. You cannot fit this blind outside the window recess.

    • The grip fit system blind is held in place using a pressure fit system that exerts up to 60kg of outward pressure when fitted. For this reason you need to check that your wall is solid enough to take this pressure.
      For example, if your walls are plastered but have a void behind them then your recess may not be suitable.

    • The cassette is 8cm deep, so your recess must be at least this deep in order to house the blind

    • Are your walls parallel? Your walls need to be parallel where you plan to install the blind.



    Your grip fit blind comes ready to install with the following features:




    • Aluminium cassette that is 8cm deep and 7cm tall.

    • The cassette will be filled with the fabric you have chosen the blind to be made in.

    • Features plastic cassette covers that slide out to ensure a seamless finish.

    • The blind will be reverse rolled (Rolling off the front of the tube).

    • Mounted on an aluminium tube.

    • Powered by a motor with embedded lithium battery.

    • On average the battery will need charging every 9-12 months

    • The fabric is cut 4.2cm smaller than your recess size. As with all roller blinds this means you will have light enter either side of the blind.

    Had a great experience with Order Blinds. I ordered 3 large blackout thermal blinds. All of them arrived much sooner than the expected dispatch. The quality of the blinds themselves was really good, they felt thick and premium. I did have an issue with one of the 3 blinds that had a small mark on the back. I got in touch with customer service and had a great experience there too. Domi was great and without issue they sent a replacement free of charge. Replacement was all good. If your concern relates to the drop length, we do include an additional 30cm of fabric to ensure it can fully wrap around the roller tube, when the blind has been lowered the drop ordered.     Replacement slats are lovely material and just the right opaqueness I required. The only snag was with the top hook inserts were a different size to my original blinds and I could not use my original tops as the new ones won’t come out. They are fixed in far too tightly so we were unable to remove them and had to snap a piece out of everyone of the 30 top fixings. So a warning to others when ordering replacements doublecheck your top fixings as I had no idea there were different ones.

    How To Measure For No Drill Blinds

    No Drill Install

    Measuring for your new blinds is easy, simply follow the steps below: 

    No Drill blinds can only be fitted inside the window recess: 

    1. Measure the width at the top of the window only.
    2. Measure the drop in 3 places as shown noting down the longest size in cm.
    3. Order using recess size as your measurement and we will make the reductions to ensure the blind fits into this space. 

    Remember:

    • Always use a metal tape measure.
    • Don't make any reductions from your sizes.
    • If you are unsure feel free to call or email us for help. 
    • You can add mismeasurement insurance in the checkout so if you do get it wrong we will fix it for free.
