Orla Kiely - Design Icon

Named "the Queen of Prints" by The Guardian, it's undeniable that Orla Kiely's work is instantly recognisable. Born in Ireland in 1963, Orla honed her talents at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin before moving to New York to work for a wallpaper and fabric designer. Later she moved to London and earned a Master's at the Royal Collage of Art and did design work for Marks & Spencer and Habitat before forming The Orla Kiely Partnership with her husband in the late 1990's.

Her iconic patterns and colour palette lend themselves to many products be it stationary, wallpapers and fabrics, kitchenware, clothing and accessories and much more. Her beautiful prints have even adorned buses and a range of Citreon cars and been seen on celebrities such as Alexa Chung and Kate Middleton after she showed at London Fashion Week. It's no wonder then that her work has become a regular feature of interior design schemes around the globe and that Orla has become an icon of textile design.
